This page gathers all the missing scenes from Season 21 — scenes that take place between canon episodes, never within them, and are meant to deepen what remains unseen on screen. These missing scenes are designed to accompany the canon narrative and to gradually expand the story as it unfolds.
At the time of publication, the missing scenes are not yet available. They will be added progressively, following the chronology of the aired episodes.
Narrative Intent
When the New Normal Is Shaken, Love Finds Its Way
While Season 20 explored the transition from friendship to partnership, Season 21 begins at the moment that fragile balance is disrupted. The discovery of a twin pregnancy reshapes everything — their relationship, their family structure, and the way Jo and Link envision the future.
Season 21 missing scenes focus on projection and commitment: the realization that they can no longer conceive of life without each other, and the need to anchor that certainty through deliberate acts of choice and engagement before the babies arrive.
The missing scenes planned for Season 21 aim to explore:
- the pregnancy announcement as a turning point that reshapes both their relationship and the foundation of their family
- the reconfiguration of a blended family with the arrival of not one, but two babies
- how Luna and Scout process the news and question their place within the family
- the fear triggered by a high-risk twin pregnancy, experienced differently by each of them
- Jo’s fear of abandonment resurfacing in moments of heightened vulnerability
- Link’s need for control colliding with a situation he cannot manage practically or protect against
- the way fear creates emotional distance before ultimately forcing realignment
- how a moment of crisis—the robbery—accelerates clarity
- the physical and emotional aftermath of the robbery
- how instability, fear of loss, and the need for certainty can lead to acts of commitment
- the family dynamics that unfold after the engagement, as wedding planning brings new tensions and adjustments
- glimpses of the wedding itself, revisited through memory, as parts of it remain unseen on screen
Ultimately, Season 21 missing scenes explore how love moves from belief to action — how choosing each other becomes something that must be said, shown, and legally, emotionally, and symbolically affirmed.
These missing scenes are not about rewriting canon.
They are about deepening it, by exploring what happens between episodes: moments of distance, fear, realignment, and the decisions that change everything.
Reading guide
The Missing Scenes are part of a continuous reading experience that fills the emotional and narrative spaces left between what we saw on screen.
They are numbered according to the canon episode they follow.
For example, Missing Scene 21.1.1 takes place after Episode 21×01.
Below, you’ll find a chronological timeline listing all the missing scenes in order, allowing you to locate any scene within the season’s progression. At launch, the missing scenes are not yet available; they will be added progressively.
The navigation anchors on this page point only to canon episodes.
Clicking on an episode title will take you directly to its recap section, which is immediately followed by the Missing Scenes that unfold after it.
From there, you can jump directly to a specific point in the season or simply scroll down and experience the story as it unfolds.
This structure allows you to experience Season 21 as an extended story, without rewriting or altering canon — only expanding what happens in between.

Episode 21×01 — “If Walls Could Talk” (Canon)

Jo and Link are stuck in standstill traffic after climate protesters block a bridge. Link steps out of the car, amused and openly supportive of the cause. Jo, meanwhile, is overheated, flustered, and visibly uncomfortable. She insists she’s fine, but her tension is obvious. Gathering her courage, she tells Link she needs to say something, only for a protester to dump a bucket of trash onto Link’s car. Jo is horrified. Link laughs it off. The moment collapses before she can speak.
Soon after, Levi congratulates Link, only to catch Jo frantically signaling that she hasn’t told him yet. Levi pivots quickly, pretending he was only congratulating him for surviving the traffic jam. Once Link walks away, Jo admits she’s been trying to tell him, but with everything happening at the hospital, it never felt like the right moment to celebrate. She’s terrified of how he’ll react, and that fear has completely paralyzed her. Levi gently teases her, but Jo is overwhelmed. The anxiety turns physical, and she runs off to vomit. A clear manifestation of how emotionally and physically consumed she is.
Later at the bar, Jo vents to Levi about being sick all day, half-joking that she wishes he’d be “sad with her” the way a best friend should be. But Levi is distracted by his own career worries, leaving Jo alone with her spiraling thoughts.
Eventually, Link joins her at the table, setting food and wine in front of her, and she instinctively pushes it away. The gesture stops him cold. Something clicks. Jo freezes. Link studies her face, and suddenly, he knows. Jo confirms she’s pregnant.
Link pulls her into a tight, certain, instinctive embrace. After all of Jo’s fear, his reaction is immediate and unwavering — pure happiness.
